What is Travian?

As the main page says, Travian is a browser game with a world full of thousands of users who all begin as the leaders of small villages. I believe it is a bit more than that. It is a competitive game where you build a mighty empire and destroy all who stand in your way! . . . . perhaps that is not the best description, but it fits it well enough. The point of this game is to build up your puny little village into something less puny and little, while managing to not be raided of all of your resources.

Here is some "cheats" and general hints for the internet-based game, Travian.

-A Great Tactic Using Crannies

*It is possible for Crannies to achieve a max level of 10. They can save 1000 resources (Level 10 = 2000 resources for Gauls).

*Build up your warehouse, granary until they both save 5000 of your resources.
Meanwhile, you your production stays high (around 250 or 300 per hour).
Build 3 crannies and upgrade them to level 10 (when Teutons attack you they are able to steal 33% of your resources!).

*Get your main building up to level 10.
*Build a rally point.
*Build Barracks and upgrade them to level 5.
*Upgrade your warehouse and your granary until they become eligible to save 10,000 resources.
*Keep upgrading your fields until you are producing 500 or 600 per hour (make sure your crop resource stays high).

Later, as you build an army, you may then break down the crannies whilst your army defends.

Gaia Online Hints (Internet)

There isn’t any cheats, and if there is then it will probably get you banned.
Here is some tips to get gold instead

• Do your daily stuff everyday
• Daily stuff include:
• Posting in forum at least once
• Vote in the arena
• Vote in forums
• Comment on profile
• Add a journal entry
• Daily Chance
• Sell stuff in the marketplace
• Use the tokens you get from daily chance and play slots are black jack with them and sell the tickets
• Enter contests such as bump contests (make sure it’s free to enter)
• If you’re questing make a quest thread
• If your good with computer graphics sell banners
• If your a decent artist sell avieart or give free art and people might tip you
• Or just bump in the chatterbox
• Or donate to gaia and get monthly collectibles and then sell them

Hey, I used to b just like u, I wanted an easy way to get lots o' gold really quickly, so I researched it, like u shood do. What I found was all u have to do is go onto www.download.com and search for 'refresher' and then download the Yrefresher (or whatever its called) and make sure that it can refresh at one refresh per second, this can be achieved with the refresher's 'custom interval' mode and then just go onto the general discussion forum page on gaia (which is the page the awards the most gold) and refresh away!!! 4 each refresh u shood get around 3-4 gold, so u do the maths... thats alot of gold!!!

Second post is lies...

For one refresher... you can set it to 20 seconds.. and you will get 4 gold per minute... or so...
That's 5000 gold if you keep it on all day...

Now I figured out a way to get 50,000 a day... BUT IT DOESN'T INVOLVE KEEPING IT ON ONE SECOND OR ANYTHING...

Also... find a auto macro tool....(google is helpful)

If you find a good one for free.. (there are many free ones), then you can use it to post every 45 seconds (which is the limit) and you can play it back over and over again...

Top posters get ~150 posts a day... With this auto-macro tool.. you can get...1000-1400 posts a day depending on how you set up your macro tool..

Let's get the avg of those two.. 1200 x 3 (3 being the amount of gold/post) = 3600...
With this tool.. you don't have to keep up a refreshing tool.. because your already lurking (by posting)...

So.. that's 4 + 3=7 gold per minute... 7 x 60 (minutes in an hour) =420 gold/hour x24 =10,080 gold/day...

Travian Strategy Guide (Internet)

Understanding Travian Player Types

Players of Travian are loosely divided into two main playing styles: Defenders and Attackers. The way you play the game and the character type you select combine to determine your play strategy.

Defenders are someone who attacks rarely or never. The main goal of a defender is to maintain and prevail against attackers. Defenders primarily focus on building defensive units and a strong defensive army. Most Defenders are the Gaul type character, although occasionally you may encounter a Defender who is playing as Roman.

Attackers are frequently raiding nearby players. The primary strategy of an attacker is to build up a strong offensive army for raiding. Teuton character types are often attackers.

Player Strategies - Booming and Rushing

Most Travian players start with one strategy and stick with it. The two most common strategies, for both attacking and defending are Booming and Rushing.

Booming is a strategy of building up your economics in advance of building a strong military. You expand your economic might as much as possible and then gradually build your army. This works for both attackers and defenders.

Rushing is a strategy of building up an army to gain power through military might. Economy is ignored in favor of a powerful force for either attacking nearby players or defending your turf.

Advantages and Disadvantages to Booming and Rushing

Rushing relies on your ability to steal resources from reasonably defenseless players following a Booming strategy. If you can pull it off, you can build a strong military and still gain resources by acquiring them from others. The potential downside to this strategy is losing. If you lose early on, you don't have the economic backing to recover and build back up, leaving yourself vulnerable to attack with no way to gain ground.

Booming might look like the conservative approach. Think of it as the Ant to Rushing's Grasshopper. You start by building an economy, which makes you somewhat open to attack from a Rushing strategy. The key thing to remember, is that by building an economy first, you can more quickly recover from losses and replace assets and build an army. Most of the people who eventually dominate their corner of Travian succeed by Booming first and then shifting to an attack strategy after they've built a strong economy.
